The church wanted to improve the quality and attendance of their children’s programs. The goal was to take the religious enrichment of their programs and bring that outdoors. There was an existing play structure that Grounds For Play (GFP) manufactured and installed during the 1980s. “The original First Baptist playground was done 25+ years ago. It was all wood - treated pine, which was what they made back then,” Design Consultant Ric Yates said. They needed to be able to have safe, affordable, and developmentally-appropriate outdoor play equipment that catered to children of all ages. They needed multiple separate playground areas dedicated to infants and toddlers, preschool children, and school age children.
