Superior Recreational Products, Grounds For Play's parent company, awards W.B. Ennis Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, North Carolina as an Excellence in Recreation site for intentionally and thoughtfully designing their outdoor play environment.
W.B. Ennis Memorial Park, located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, is part of the Nash County Parks and Recreation umbrella. It is home to baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, and now a brand new play area and fitness area. The county worked alongside Grounds For Play consultant Next Level Recreation for this new project.
The play area boasts one of our eco-friendly playgrounds that is designed for children ages 5-12 years. The playground structure features overhead climbing, traditional climbers, and plenty of slides. Additionally, the county chose our Single Post Swing Frame with Shade to provide swinging opportunities to children of all ages through belt and bucket swing seats and all abilities through our Inclusive Swing Seat. The county also opted for our Inclusive Orbit, a ground-level merry-go-round that is designed to accommodate a mobility device.
What’s more, Nash County also created a sensory park with Grounds For Play musical instruments. Within the park are our Flowers, Lily Pad Cymbals, Tuned Drums, and Contrabass Chimes. They topped off the design with several of our outdoor seating benches and fitness equipment that overlook all the play areas for parents and caregivers.
