In Chantilly, Virginia, The Goddard School of Chantilly (Westfields) was looking to create a well-rounded play environment that encouraged outdoor learning. They chose Grounds For Play because we were able to provide them with an outdoor learning center that extended well beyond the typical playground structure. The site design is divided into different areas that are distinguished by a winding path, playground turf, and a concrete area. The Outdoor Learning Center provides an excellent play environment featuring science, art, dramatic play, and music components.
The science area includes a Weather Station where children can read the temperature and predict the weather for the day. In the music area, there are several musical instruments, including the popular Lady Bug Drum, which is shaded with an economical umbrella. The impressive art area has several outdoor Art Easels to accommodate multiple children at once. Additionally, the area features Nesting Tables with Chairs where children can explore provided materials, read, color, or do classwork outside.
Grounds For Play has provided an Outdoor Learning Center that furthers The Goddard School's approach to providing an enriching preschool experience where children can learn.
