When Kiddie Academy of Stuart in Florida sought to elevate their outdoor environment, they wanted play spaces that encouraged curiosity, supported early development, and welcomed children at every stage of growth. Their new playground design delivers just that — blending recycled materials, age-appropriate play experiences, and thoughtful amenities under colorful shade.
At the heart of the project is a recycled playground structure designed specifically for children ages 2–5. Packed with climbing, sliding, and play panel activity opportunities, this structure promotes self-guided exploration and active movement.
To ensure year-round comfort, the structure is completely covered by a large overhead shade system that protects children from Florida’s intense sun while extending outdoor play time.
The preschool play space also features:
Figure-8 trick track for trikes
Outdoor musical instruments to inspire sound-based learning, including our bongos, flowers, and butterfly musical instruments
Outdoor learning area with a fun umbrella shade and activity tables
These additions help educators take lessons outdoors while giving children new sensory and social experiences throughout the day.
Kiddie Academy of Stuart also prioritized their youngest learners with a separate space designed just for children 6–23 months.
This quiet, nurturing zone includes:
A large infant play structure sized for early mobility
Safe spaces for crawling, early climbing, and social engagement
Turf surfacing for comfort and safety
With age-appropriate equipment, infants can develop motor skills and confidence in a secure environment.
Both play areas feature turf surfacing, creating a softer, cleaner outdoor environment that stays vibrant all year.
Kiddie Academy selected a lively blue and orange color palette, brightening the space and reinforcing the school’s cheerful, high-energy atmosphere.
From early crawling to confident climbing and collaborative learning, Kiddie Academy’s playground provides environments tailored to unique developmental needs. With shaded protection, engaging sensory features, and opportunities for structured and imaginative play, children can safely explore, learn, and grow all while having fun outdoors.
